Three weeks ago, there was a real drama in the Adriatic Sea. As the Chief of Staff of the Italian Supreme Forces revealed in an interview with La Republica Giuseppe Cabo Dragons, the Russian Navy tried to prevent the exit of the American aircraft carrier Harry Truman from the Adriatic Sea. He revealed that Russian warships had sailed along the Italian coast and reached Ancona. Dragone explained that on July 22, Russian ships closed the entry-exit route from the Adriatic Sea and prevented the American aircraft carrier from moving, as a result of which tensions between NATO and Russian forces in the area are expected to increase, reports MMC.

When Russian ships entered the Adriatic Sea, the Italians mobilized warships to escort the Russian ships. Itamilradar revealed that the Russian destroyer Admiral Tribuc was accompanied by the ship Bergamini, and the cruiser Varyag by the Marcellia. Everything was monitored from the air with a P72 military aircraft. They added that Russian warships had left the Adriatic Sea and entered the Ionian Sea.

Such and similar escalations could occur in the Mediterranean Sea several times in the future, because Dragone believes that Russia will be particularly aggressive in the Middle East and Africa.
