A 35-year-old citizen of Ireland was injured while canyoning in Fratarac in Bovško. The accident occurred due to improper use of the safety rope, which caused the guide who was protecting the casualty to run out of it. The 35-year-old then slipped and fell.
At 10:49 a.m. on Sunday, the Nova Gorica Police Administration was informed that a person had been injured in a gorge in Fratarac in Bovško. On the spot, the police found that a 35-year-old citizen of Ireland was seriously injured.
The Irish citizen was given first aid on the spot, and then he was transported to the Jesenice hospital for treatment by a helicopter of the Slovenian Army. The police will charge the guide who did not provide proper protection for the crime of causing grievous bodily harm.
