American media reports that the 53-year-old film actress Anne Heche badly injured when she crashed her car into a house in Los Angeles, causing her mini cooper to catch fire along with the building. Speculations that she was under the influence of alcohol have not yet been confirmed.
The police in Los Angeles have not officially revealed the name of the victim. They said only that the driver was driving at a high rate of speed, ran off the road and crashed into a building in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles. The driver suffered severe burns and was taken to the hospital in critical condition by firefighters. First, it is said to have crashed into the garage of an apartment block, then it drove forward and crashed into a nearby house.
