Dalmatia was hit by a violent storm in the afternoon. In Split, lightning struck a woman who was bathing on Kašjuni beach. Paramedics successfully revived her and transported her to the hospital, but she is still in mortal danger.
As Dalmacija Danas reports, the change in weather was sudden. At first it was sunny and hot, the beach was crowded. In just ten minutes, dark clouds gathered over the coast, a heavy downpour began, accompanied by strong gusts of wind.
People ran away from the beach, some hid under trees from the storm. But the woman who was struck by lightning did not escape the storm. Emergency services immediately arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the woman. According to initial information, she suffered head injuries.
As the journalist reports RTL Croatia, the woman was revived on the spot, and then she was taken to a hospital in Split. Her life is in danger. Croatian media also report that she is a foreign citizen.
The police are at the scene and will investigate the circumstances of the accident.
