Shiffrin moved the victory counter to number 84. Until equaling the Swede’s absolute record Ingemar Stenmark (86) in terms of the number of victories in the World Cup, she is separated by only two victories.

Shiffrin has 51 slalom wins, the record for any female alpine skier in any discipline. At the same time, she won 19 World Cup races in giant slalom. She is just one win shy of the Swiss women’s record Boil Schneider with twenty giant slalom victories. The Swedish record holder Ingemar Stenmark celebrated in this discipline in 46 matches.

Swiss woman Lara Gut-Behrami however, she had the best time of the final, which was not enough to jump on the podium. After the first run, she was 13th, and finished the race in fifth place.

The Norwegian jumped to the second place Mowinckelfourth after the first run, was 82 hundredths of a second behind Shiffrin.

Swedish Hectorwho closed to within half a second of Shiffrin on the first course, slipped to third on the second, 1.19 seconds behind the record holder.

With an excellent run, Dvornik improved by nine places her previous best ranking in giant slalom races in the World Cup, 21st place, two places ahead of Kranjska Gora. She took part in the slaloms, which are her first discipline, on November 15 in Levi.

Ana Bucik she did not repeat her giant slalom performance on Tuesday when she was 14. After the second split time, she lost her grip and slid to her side, retiring on the first run.

The third Slovenian woman Tina Robnik finished the first run in 34th place and missed the final by 27 hundredths of a second.

The women’s alpine skiers have two more slalom races this weekend at the Špindleruv Mlyn venue in the Czech Republic, where Shiffrin will try to equal Stenmark’s milestone, before heading to the world championships in Meribel, France, from February 6-19.
