Outgoing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie are ending their honeymoon in Slovenia. The couple stayed in the boutique hotel Vila Planinka in Jezersko, among other things, they visited mountains, lakes and the Postojna Cave, where they also met a human fish. Johnson highly recommends a visit to Slovenia, the 24ur portal reported.

The Johnsons arrived in Slovenia on Wednesday, and are returning to London tonight. Before leaving, the British Prime Minister gave a short statement to journalists, in which he thanked the Slovenian media for respecting their privacy during the trip. At the same time, he also thanked everyone who helped them explore the beauty of the country during their visit to Slovenia.

“I should start with Good day everyone (in Slovenian)! We had a wonderful honeymoon. Thank you to everyone who helped us. We climbed mountains, soaked in lakes and cycled. It was wonderful. I highly recommend visiting Slovenia, saw we are incredible things: giant caves, swamps, Postojna Cave. Thank you to Slovenia, the only country that has the English word for love in its name.”

“I highly recommend a visit to Slovenia,” said Johnson, who was impressed by the Postojna Cave, among other things. “I didn’t know about her, but she’s really worth a look,” he emphasized. In the end, he thanked the whole of Slovenia, as he himself pointed out, “the only country that actually has love in the name of the country”.

“The visit was completely private, everyone who organized their stay in Slovenia had to thoroughly ensure that they spent their vacation in as much privacy as possible. They only found out about the arrival of such a high-ranking guest in Jezerski a day or so before. In all high-profile visits, even if it’s a politician’s vacation, privacy, security, and cuisine are key.”

Johnson has received a lot of criticism in Great Britain because he went on vacation at a time when the economic crisis on the island is deepening. The British central bank warned of an impending recession and raised interest rates.
