What does Tina Maze say about herself as a driver, who will drive the renovated DS 7 for at least one year? How patient is she behind the wheel and, like many great skiers, does she like to take some combination of turns faster?

The renovated DS 7, the most recognizable and popular SUV of this French premium brand, has arrived in Slovenia. The plug-in hybrid version of the car will also be driven by Tina Maze, who after the end of her skiing career drives at least 30,000 kilometers a year, and makes no secret of the fact that she enjoys driving even at slightly higher speeds and on snowy roads. After all, several great alpine skiers have already demonstrated their skills in cars.
“Just yesterday I was driving over a pass in Italy. The road was completely covered in snow, and I was alone in the car, so I could afford a little more. Still everything within the framework of safety, but I don’t complain if sometimes the speeds are even a little higher and if it takes me a little bit,” Mazetova told Siol.net behind the wheel of the car. More in the video above.
Emphasis on plug-in hybrids, there is also a diesel just in case
With the renovation, the DS 7 received a slightly different front fascia, matrix LED headlights, and the rear of the car has also been slightly changed. The DS 7 is 4.5 meters long, 1.89 meters wide and has a 2.7 meter wheelbase. The battery capacity of the plug-in hybrid has been increased to 14.2 kilowatt hours (kWh) – officially this is enough for up to 65 kilometers of electric range.
One of the drives is still a 130-horsepower diesel engine, and there are also three plug-in hybrid versions on offer. Mazetova drives a DS7 300, which means four-wheel drive and acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour in less than six seconds.
The DS 7 represents more than half of the sales of this brand in Slovenia, which until now has not had any major problems with delivery times. This year, they plan to sell around 60 refurbished DS7s in Slovenia.
