Vladislav Ribnikar, a student at the Belgrade school where student Kosta Kecmanović went on a shooting spree last Wednesday, says he was one of the few friends of the 13-year-old who killed nine people in the Serbian school. The student was present at a birthday party on May 1 when Kosta told the birthday boy that he would bring him a present to school on Wednesday. It was also the day he committed the massacre.

The student told what it was like on the day of the attack

“It was the end of the first hour, around 8:35. We heard gunshots, but at first we thought the tables had overturned, because it was louder than firecrackers. Everything happened quickly. We only realized what was happening when one of our teachers entered the classroom and shouted: “They are shooting, run, run!!! The teacher saved us”.

“When I was leaving, I looked out the window and saw Kosta in the yard. I didn’t realize he was a murderer at the time, I found that out later,” he said Flash said the disciple”.

About bullying

He says they were friends for a long time. “We have been friends for a long time. We also saw each other outside of school. We spent hours and hours playing video games, especially Fortnite, but we also played football in the Tašmajdan park,” he said.

She says Kosta was “calm, polite and somewhat introverted.”

“He’s a guy who keeps his stuff to himself. Even when you get him to play football, he stays away. He has very few friends and is bullied by others. They call him ‘nerd’ because he’s a great student and got top grades,” the student explains

He denied the story that the reason for the killing was a bad grade in school. “He never gets bad grades. Once we were in the park and others surrounded him and shouted ‘nerd’, ‘unfortunate’. They also gave him other nicknames. As far as I know, he was never beaten,” he says.

He adds that Kosta recently asked to change classes to avoid being bullied, but the incidents continued. “His father took him to the shooting range,” he says.

The student also states that two days before the massacre, Kosta also shot at a friend who was celebrating a few days ago, but Kosta did not bring him a present. “He later told him that he would get the gift on Wednesday at school,” he recalls. This boy, says the student, still managed to escape by jumping over the window.
