
Slovenia won the opening match at the final of the Billie Jean King Cup in Seville against Australia. After the convincing victory of Kaja Juvan against Alja Tomljanović, the second point was won by Tamara Zidanšek, who was better than Daria Savilla with 6:1 and 6:4.
Today, the national team will play another doubles match, which can be very important for reaching the semi-finals, where only the first-placed team will advance. There are three national teams in the group – Slovenia faces Kazakhstan on Friday.
The Slovenian team also includes Veronika Erjavec, Nina Potočnik and Ela Nala Milić.
The final tournament of the BJK Cup in Seville features the twelve best national teams in the world. The title is defended by Switzerland, which was better than Australia in the final last year.
