By the way, about why the biography of the informant Vladimir Vauhnik was not allowed to be published in the SAZU Slovenian Biographical Lexicon.

In my last (3rd, 10.1.2023) of the series of articles about Angela Vode, which I sent to many media, a single one was published, in the right-wing media, with terribly offensive comments, which is apparently necessary for this right-wing media, if he wants the Stalinist Kučan clan to allow him to publish at all. But that’s not so important now. The main thing is that in the 3rd article I mentioned the three main topics that Angela Vode and I talked about in the last years of her life – the Pohor Battalion, Vladimir Vauhnik and the party’s attempt to assassinate her in 1939. However, since Stalinist freedom of the press still reigns in Slovenia, firmly in the hands of Milan Kučan and his Udbov clan, this article of mine – the 3rd – will never see the light of day.

Since I have already written everything in detail about the Pohorsk battalion, let me now say something more about what she told me about Vauhnik, especially the most important, since a lot is already known about him. Vodetova admired him so much that even now I don’t know if they might have been in an emotional relationship. She always, always mentioned him, all absorbed, whenever I visited her. It’s like he’s her immediate family member. But she never revealed to me whether she was in personal contact with him. I still don’t know what that means. It seemed quite excessive and also almost impossible when she told me that Vauhnik, and not Tito, should lead the Yugoslav army, and probably later Yugoslavia as well, at least that’s how I understood her.

However, since in my job at the time, in the editorial office of the SAZU Slovenian Biographical Lexicon, we tried to publish Vauhnik’s biography in this eminent publication, Mr. Editor Jože Munda ordered me to collect as much material as possible about Vauhnik, so that the author of the article, as far as I know, Dr. Dušan Biber had at his disposal more domestic data, not only foreign data. I still remember how excited Mr. Munda was because the V lexicon was going to be really interesting.

Then Dr. Dušan Biber informed the editors that he could not write about Vauhnik because there was information in American sources, for which he worked for both sides. Both Mr. Mundo and I were very disappointed, probably also Dr. Biber, as well as Mr. Dušan Vauhnik, Vauhnik’s brother, who contacted our editorial office because the Party crossed our path again. What a ridiculous excuse!
