The first run of the men’s night slalom for the Alpine Skiing World Cup has finished in Schladming, Austria. Slovenian skiers Štefan Hadalin and Tijan Marovt have already finished the race, the first was too late to qualify for the final (which will start at 20:45), the second withdrew. Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen leads.
Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen will defend 21 hundredths of a second ahead of the Austrian in the final (20:45). Manuel Feller and 30 before the Swiss Loic Meillard. Currently the best slalom skier of the season Lucas Braathen will attack from fourth place in the final.
If Kristoffersen wins, he would become the skier with the most slalom victories in Schladming. The 28-year-old is currently tied with Benjamin Raich with four wins. For last year’s winner of this spectacle under the floodlights on the Planai track, the German Linus Strasser, the race ended at the second gate when he made a mistake and retired, reports STA.
Just like last weekend in Kitzbühl, the Slovenians did not prove themselves, Stefan Hadalin was too slow to qualify for the final with a time of 58.81 and finished the race in 39th place, Tijan Marovt but he retired in the first run.
