With unchanged excise duties, the highest permitted retail prices of gasoline, diesel and fuel oil from tomorrow until Monday, December 4, 2023 inclusive, will amount to 1.508 euros per liter of gasoline, 1.544 euros per liter of diesel fuel and 1.132 euros per liter of fuel oil.
Significant reduction in the prices of gasoline, diesel and fuel oil
For a liter of unleaded motor gasoline (NMB 95), with the unchanged excise duty, which is currently set at 0.49051 euros per liter, at service stations outside the highway intersection, in the new 14-day period, it will be necessary to pay 1.508 euros per liter (before the change, 1.534 euros per liter liter), for 50 liters this amounts to 75.4 euros.
If the prices of NMB 95 were not regulated, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy, where all taxes and contributions applicable in the past were taken into account, it would be necessary to deduct around 1,546 euros per liter of NMB 95. With the unchanged excise duty, which is currently set at 0.42267 euros per liter, a liter of diesel will be 1.544 euros per liter at gas stations outside the highway intersection in the new period (before the change 1.608 euros per liter), which for 50 liters amounts to 77 ,2 euros.
If diesel prices were not regulated and at the same time consumers were exempted from paying the contribution for renewable energy sources and cogeneration of heat and electricity, according to the estimates of the competent ministry, where all taxes and contributions applicable in the past were taken into account, it would be necessary to deduct around 1.595 euros per liter of diesel .
For a liter of heating oil, with the unchanged excise duty, which is currently set at 0.11577 euros per liter, in the new 14-day period it will be necessary to pay 1.132 euros per liter (before the change, 1.195 euros per liter). For an ordered quantity of 1,000 liters of fuel oil, the consumer will thus pay 1,132 euros (without transport). If the prices of heating oil were not regulated and all taxes and contributions applicable in the past were taken into account, it would be necessary to deduct around 1.269 euros per liter. The consumer would pay 1,269 euros for the purchase of 1,000 liters, which means that the consumer saves 137 euros for a 1,000-liter tank.
In accordance with the government regulation on the pricing of petroleum products outside the area of highways and expressways, traders’ margins are limited and can amount to a maximum of 0.0983 euros per liter of diesel fuel and 0.0994 euros per liter of NMB-95, and for heating oil a maximum of 0.08 EUR per liter.
The prices of motor fuels at the motorway intersection are set freely, and which roads are motorways and expressways are determined by the Decree on the Categorization of State Roads. The prices of the mentioned oil derivatives will continue to be calculated on the basis of a methodology based on the movement of the prices of oil derivatives on the world market (source: English PLATT’S European Marketscan) and the movement of the US dollar – euro exchange rate.
Model prices are calculated on the basis of 14-day averages of the prices of mineral oil derivatives. Petroleum derivatives are considered to be 95-octane unleaded motor gasoline, diesel fuel without additives and fuel oil, it was stated in the press release at Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy.
