After Yemen’s Houthi rebels captured a cargo ship in the Red Sea on Sunday, a video has emerged of the seizure of a ship carrying cars en route from Turkey to India. Iranian authorities today rejected Israel’s accusations that the ship was seized on Tehran’s instructions.
Iran characterized the accusations as an attempt to divert attention from what is happening in Palestine, where, in its opinion, Israel is said to have suffered a major defeat, reports the French news agency AFP.
“We have said many times that the rebel groups in the area represent their countries and make decisions and act based on the interests of their countries. The Zionist regime cannot accept the fact that it has suffered a major defeat in Palestine and wants to find justification for this defeat by blaming Iran, ” said a spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry Nasser Kanani.

Israel blames Iran
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu blamed Iran for the seizure of the ship. According to him, the hijacking of the ship is a “terrorist act that represents a qualitative leap in Iran’s aggression against the citizens of the free world and creates international consequences for the safety of shipping lanes.”
According to Israeli media reports, the ship is said to be managed by a company partly owned by a British-Israeli businessman Rami Ungar.
Iran, which financially and militarily supports the extremist Palestinian movement Hamas, called the movement’s attacks on Israel on October 7 a success, but denied direct involvement. Also, Tehran has repeatedly warned of the danger of the conflict expanding in the region.
