The new coach of the women’s football team, Saša Kolman, highlighted the great potential of the team members. He will be on the selection bench for the first time already this Friday, when Slovenia starts the competition in the Women’s League of Nations B, his goal will be victory, as well as in the following matches. He chose coach Nuša Ladinek as the first assistant, Matej Mavrič Rožič will also be the assistant, and Mladen Dabanović will be the goalkeeper coach.

Saša Kolman will meet with the national team for the first time before today’s training at Brdo pri Kranje. After four days of preparation, they will play in Krško on September 22 at 4 p.m., when the Czechs will be on the other side. “Winning is our main goal, I don’t know how to do anything else. I want the players to think like that too. But this part of the League of Nations will be important until the end of the year for getting to know me, to create a picture for myself. We have a young team, the potential is very big and I am sure , so that the girls can give even more. I know some of them from seminars, I also watched a few matches and I was pleasantly surprised, I’m really looking forward to work,” Kolman said before the first training session at the headquarters of the Football Association of Slovenia (NZS) in Brdo pri Kranju.
He hasn’t spoken to Capricorn yet

Kolman assumed his new position on September 15, when he succeeded him on the selector’s bench Borut Jarac. He resigned after an open letter from the players, in which they pointed out the bad conditions in the national team.
He looked at the history of the dispute, he had not yet spoken to Capricorn. “I learned about everything from the media and it would be wrong to comment on it now. I want us to turn over a new leaf and focus on further work in the team,” Kolman pointed out.
He chose a coach for the professional team as his first assistant Nušo Ladinek, who years ago was also Jarac’s assistant. His assistant will also be a friend and former national team player Matej Mavrič Rožiča former goalkeeper Mladen Dabanovića member of the golden Slovenian generation, will coach the goalkeepers.

Kolman worked abroad for 15 years
The 39-year-old former football defender Kolman has a varied coaching resume, he also worked abroad for 15 years. Before assuming the duties of a selector, he already worked as a head coach in Nova Gorica, and he was also the head coach in Australia, where he managed the youth and then the members of the South Melbourne team. In 2019, he took over the duties of head of the football academy of the famous Real Madrid in the United Arab Emirates.

During the new coronavirus pandemic, he had to leave the UAE, he was unemployed for a while, and then he came to the NHS, where he has been employed as a professional associate for coaching training.
As a player, he wore the jerseys of Tolmin, in whose ranks he ended his playing career ten years ago, Gorica, Primorje and Lendava Nafta, and he also played in the Faroe Islands.
