Eurovision in Sweden and the 50th anniversary are not enough reasons.
Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson from the ranks of the legendary Abba nipped in the bud the hopes that the Swedish band would reunite next year, when Eurovision is coming to this Scandinavian country. It will also be the 50th anniversary of their Eurovision win with the now evergreen song Waterloo.
They also denied that they would compose a song that would represent the colors of Sweden next year.
Since Abba’s victory in 1974, Sweden has won Eurovision six more times, including this year in Liverpool, Great Britain.
As Andersson said, he does not want an Abba merger. “I do not want to,” he said, “and if I don’t want it, neither do the others. It’s the same for everyone – if someone says no, then it’s no.” “We can celebrate 50 years of Abba without being on stage,” Ulvaeus added.
