The 51-year-old filmmaker will write the script and sit in the director’s chair of the biographical film entitled Priscilla. This will be based on the memoir Elvis and Me, which was published in 1985.
Sofia Coppola is facing a new, demanding project. The American director will take the lead role behind the camera of a new biographical film that will tell the story Priscilla Presley. This was published in book form in 1985 in a work with the title Elvis and Meand the intimate narrative immediately became a New York Times bestseller at the time.
She will take over the role of Priscilla Cailee Spaeny (which has already appeared in the projects Mare of Eastown and Bad Times at the El Royale), Jacob Elordi from Euphoria will step into the shoes of the king of rock’n’roll.
Coppola will also work as a producer, joining forces with longtime collaborators, including Philippe Le Sourd (director of photography), Stacey Battat (costume designer), Sarah Flack (assembly) and Tamara Deverell (production design). More information regarding the start of production or the release of the film is not yet known.
