Yesterday at 3:40 p.m., the Nova Gorica Police Department was informed about the traffic accident II. category at the pedestrian crossing in Erjavčeva Street in Nova Gorica (near the railway tracks), where a car collided with a child.
“Police officers of PP Nova Gorica found that a child was crossing the road on a bicycle in Erjavčeva Street, and at that moment a female driver of a car drove down Erjavčeva Street in the direction of the former border crossing with Italy and hit the left side of the bicycle with the front part of the car. with which the child was riding. It is expected that the child was slightly injured in the traffic accident. The police ordered the perpetrator to undergo an alcohol test and the result showed that she had 0.38 mg/l of breath alcohol in her body,” he informs the public. The police also informed the District State Prosecutor’s Office in Nova Gorica about the accident. Due to liability for a misdemeanor under the Road Traffic Rules Act (driving a vehicle at a pedestrian crossing and prohibition of driving under the influence of alcohol), the perpetrator was issued a payment order. The professional firefighters of JZ GRD Nova Gorica and rescuers of the EMS ZD Nova Gorica also intervened at the scene of the accident.
