Even before the real summer season, “summer” traffic jams began on Slovenian highways. There were already several traffic jams last weekend, and the same scenario is predicted for this weekend as well.
This time, too, the main reason for the congestion on the roads is said to be the Pentecost holiday, which is on May 28, and the holidays in Austria from May 26 to 29. The promet.si portal predicts a very high traffic density from Austria to Croatia, also in the opposite direction. Expect more full rest areas.
Road work
They also announced on which sections the work will be carried out. One of these is the Karavanka tunnel on the Gorenjska highway, where traffic will alternate again on Sunday night, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., due to scanning.
In Ljubljana, on Dunajska cesta in the area of the overpass over the expressway, only right turns are possible from all directions.
A1, Styrian highway:
- on Saturday, May 27, the driving and overtaking lanes on the Slovenske Konjice-Dramlje section (before the Pletovarje tunnel) towards Maribor will be closed alternately from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be prisons due to the installation of JVO in front of the ADR-portal.
- from midnight on Saturday, presumably until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, the lane on the Fram–Slovenska Bistrica section towards Ljubljana will be closed.
- on Sunday, May 28, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., the import of Slovenska Konjica to Ljubljana will be closed. The detour will be arranged via the Slovenska Bistrica south junction or along the old road Slovenske Konjice-Celje.
