Slovenian philanthropy organizes the National Volunteer Week between May 22 and 28, within the framework of which yesterday at the Slovenian Day ceremony in Žalec, the volunteer-friendly municipalities of 2023 were announced. This year, too, the municipality of Velenje is among the recipients of the title. The recognition was accepted by the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Velenje, Aleksandra Vasiljević, and the head of the Office for Social Activities, Marko Pritržnik. Renata Rupreht, a citizen of our municipality, received a special recognition at the event as a volunteer employed in the public administration.
In the Municipality of Velenje, they carry out many activities that encourage volunteering. Among other things, they implement the project Donated food, transport with Kamerat, organize a major cleaning campaign and provide business premises for free use and financial support to volunteer organizations. Every year, the mayor of Velenje, Peter Dermol, invites all Velenje volunteers to a reception. Under the honorary patronage of the mayor, the best volunteers and the best volunteer organization for the previous year are also announced every year.
On Friday, June 2, at 5 p.m., an event will be held in Vila Bianca, where they will announce the volunteer and volunteer organization in the Municipality of Velenje for 2022.
