As we already wrote, it is Anej Sosič in 2018 he became the first Slovenian to sign a contract with the Calvin Klein brand, known primarily for its underwear products. He met the designer Klein at a fashion party in New York, and after moving to Los Angeles, he works with him significantly less, since the headquarters of this brand is in New York.
Despite his youth, he has already achieved many successes in his career so far. Alongside Klein, he has collaborated with brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Prada, Karl Lagrefeld and Pierre Balmain, and he is most proud of the cover of L’Officiell Hommes UA magazine, on which he appeared in March this year. “Getting on the cover of one of the most famous fashion magazines in the world is very difficult. The entire photo shoot was extraordinary. They closed a hotel in the center of Paris just to shoot the cover. Because the editors of the magazine really liked me, they ended up giving me a double cover, and shot we are also a short fashion film Before me there were actors on the magazine cover James Franco and Jared Leto and a mannequin Jon Kortajarena and Francisco Lachowski,” said the 28-year-old.

When he was only 16 years old, he moved from Ljubljana to Milan, from where his path led him all over the world. He has already worked and lived in Paris, London, New York, Barcelona and Amsterdam, and currently lives in Los Angeles, where he says he likes it the most. Compared to the other cities where he lived, it is “much more relaxed and calm” there. “Los Angeles is an extremely sprawling city, and having lived in apartments all my life, I’m very happy to be able to now be in a big, spacious house,” he says.
He rarely returns to Slovenia, only twice a year, because, as he says, he never had many friends here. What he misses the most is that “you can live without a car and walk around Ljubljana in a few minutes”.

Becoming a model is getting easier over the years
According to him, the requirements for entering modeling have been getting lower over the years. “When I started modeling at the age of 16, the criteria were much higher. You had to be between 16 and 20 years old, between 185 and 190 centimeters tall and very thin for high fashion and muscular for the commercial market. If you are one of those however it deviated, it was quickly rejected on the international market.Currently, there are more options for beginners, as there are also categories plus size (for those with a stronger figure, note p.) and petite (for those with a smaller figure, note p.),” said Sosič.
Despite the great pressure regarding his appearance, he stopped bothering himself with various diets and menus. As he said, healthy and balanced food and training in the gym, where he goes five times a week, are part of his everyday life.
How much can a model earn?
According to him, models can earn very well, which depends mainly on the individual model, his experience and achievements. “Modelling is like any other profession. Most of them live an average life, but some who are very good at what they do can live a luxurious life. That is, they travel the whole world, work with world-famous brands and are or are on the covers of magazines,” he explained. .
Being a model is not his dream job, as he sees himself more and more in the film industry, which he can devote himself to even more by moving to Los Angeles.

Met Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and David Guetta
As a model who lives in Los Angeles and works with world-renowned brands, he has already met many famous people with whom he has only had good experiences. “I realized Ariana Grande, Justin Bieberthe DJ Pies and David Guettamodels Romeo Strjid and Francisco Lachowski and many others,” he said, adding that he was most impressed by Ariana Grande, as she was very kind.
When he has time to himself, he says he prefers to avoid people and any social occasions. “I like to read, write, and be in nature. During the year, I travel to about ten to 15 countries for work, so I always stay in the same place during my vacation,” he emphasizes.
He cited a lot of travel, getting to know new cultures and financial independence at a young age as advantages of working in the fashion industry. The main disadvantage is the erratic schedule, which “many times you can’t go home for holidays or birthdays”.

It is seen more in the film industry than in fashion
Being a model is not his dream job, as he sees himself more and more in the film industry, which he can devote himself to even more by moving to Los Angeles. He also shot the American-Italian film Don’t Touch Here, which won two awards at the Las Vegas International Film Festival. In addition to films, he starred in many music videos and commercials, which, he says, he is not the most proud of.
I would advise all those who want to work in the fashion industry or become models to choose another profession (laughs, op. p.). “Kidding aside. If you really believe in yourself, stick with it. And never sign the first contract you get your hands on. Always check other options and negotiate a better distribution of percentages between the model and the agency,” he concluded.
