A piece of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding cake in its original packaging sold for £390 (€454) at auction on Wednesday, despite an initial estimate of between £400 and £600. A piece of the wedding cake of the current King Karl III was also for sale. and his wife Camille from 2005, for which no buyer was found.

They did, however, sell several other items related to the British royal family. For a portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II. and her prince consort Philip with the signatures of the royal couple, they raised 980 pounds (1,100 euros). An album of photographs of the late Queen and her family on state visits on the royal ship Britannia was sold for £400 (€465).

For a Christmas card with the signatures of the then Crown Prince and his former wife Diane and a photo of the couple with their son, the prince William and princes Harryand the new owner paid 440 pounds (512 euros).
