Rock’s attempt to dominate the Christmas charts is not the first, in 2013 it is the same group of fans AC/DC tried to bring another of the rock legends’ most famous songs to the top of the charts – Highway This Hell. This time, they’re hoping to celebrate the rock band’s 50th anniversary during the holiday season you can celebrated in a very special way. They want to include the band’s first song among the classic Christmas hits AC/DC’s all-time UK chart topper.

In the first attempt in 2013, the track Highway This Hell in the end took fourth place. Following a vote by followers on the Facebook page AC/DC We Salute You was Thunderstruck selected for the 50th anniversary campaign. The success of the band’s fans certainly provided an additional measure of motivation Rage Against The Machine in 2009, when they managed to get the band’s best-known song to the top of the Christmas charts, Killing In The Name.

On the Facebook fan page AC/DC We Salute You have announced a fierce battle for supremacy in the Christmas charts: “The clear result of our social media poll was that the song won Thunderstruckso we’ll all be downloading or streaming this 1990 classic. Let’s see if you can let’s put AC/DC top the UK Christmas charts to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary!” Thunderstruck was the carrier single album The Razor’s Edge from 1990.
